Today in Baghdad, Iraq, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has hailed the passage of a law that calls for elections seen as critical to U.S. plans to withdraw troops. The elections law could strengthen national unity and help “achieve the aspirations of our people” to establish a democratic system ensuring rights for Iraqis “to live in dignity, justice and equality,” the prime minister said Monday in a congratulatory statement to Iraqis.

Today in Iran President Obama got some political cover Sunday for his upcoming announcement on sending more troops to Afghanistan. They have A report released by the Democratic staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee blamed the Bush administration for failing to capture or kill Osama bin Laden when the al Qaeda leader was cornered in Afghanistan’s Tora Bora mountain region in December 2001. Bin Laden had written his will, apparently sensing he was trapped, but the lack of sufficient forces to close in for the kill allowed him to escape to tribal areas in Pakistan, according to the report.

Today in Iran a former Iranian vice president was sentenced to six years in prison for his role in post-election violence, but will remain free on bail while his case is appealed, the semi-official Iranian Student’s News Agency reported.Mohammed Ali Abtahi, a reformist politician who served as Iran’s vice president under President Mohammed Khatami, was arrested in June following violence in the wake of the country’s disputed presidential elections.  And that’s what happened in Iran Today.

Right now in Iraq a lady who died more than thirty years ago because she fell off an apartment building on May 20, 1979. She is now going to rest. She is going to be cremated and her ashes will be scared on the sea. The body was cremated today in the after noon. She died when she was having a party with alcohol, and that city she was in was banned from having alcohol. She died near a man who was nearly without clothing on. So now Helen Smith is now resting in piece.

Today in Yemen ten alleged rebels are sentenced to be killed. Five where meant to be killed and the other five were sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Yemen’s government accused these people because they used civilians as human shields. In the past the group Human Rights Watch has said both Yemeni government forces and rebels have endangered civilians during fights. Al-Mohawtwari the leader of the Houthi was sentenced to death on Saturday, and ten other were sent to prison for eight to ten years.

The Structure of the Earth

This video was on the structure of the earth. This video showed on the layers of the earth like the crust, mantle and core. The crust is the outermost solid part of the earth. It is made of heavier rocks. After the crust it is the mantle and next to it is the Asthenosphere. The Astheno means”weak”. The crust and the part of the mantle is called the Lithosphere. The core is solid state and outer core is liquid state. The core is made up of nickel and iron.
